ALD Automotive is committed to having a positive impact on our local communities as well as the environment.

  • Social responsibility is embedded in our culture and is a clear demonstration of our core company values of Team Spirit, Commitment, Responsibility and Innovation

  • Road Safety is an important education for people of all ages. Observation is the key point in road safety. In order to obey or follow the rules of the road, one must be educated on what, when and why they work. And obeying such rules becomes a responsibility of safeguarding oneself and the others on the road

  • Insurance cover: Car Insurance or any vehicle insurance is important and should be made mandatory for driving on the roads. Being covered helps in making a claim for accident recovery and also offers a courtesy car in the event of damage, fire or malicious damage

  • Maintenance of your vehicle: As much as shielding oneself, it is also crucial to check the condition of your vehicle before taking it to the road. From checking the petrol/diesel limit, glass wipers to checking the air pressure in the wheel tires, it is important that you are not left abandoned in the middle of the road whilst driving

Some Tips:

Vehicle Care

  • It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that the vehicle is maintained in accordance with the manufacturers’ mileage/time scheduled as detailed in the Owner’s Manual. Failure to do so could result in damage to the vehicle and cancellation of warranty. In such cases, all liabilities lie with you & your organization

  • Car Maintenance Request form should be filled carefully and should clearly mention any specific problems with the vehicle

  • Ensure vehicle’s pollution check is carried out at frequencies prescribed by the local transport authority

  • Defects in the speedometer/odometer must be reported to SMAI within 24 hours

  • If any warning lamps are flashing (engine check/oil/charging/brakes) while driving, or remain on after starting the engine, call the SMAI Helpdesk immediately

Be a Responsible Driver

  • Never drink and drive

  • Always wear your seat belt and insist your passengers to do the same

  • Always drive within the speed limit. Consequences of driving fast can be disastrous

  • Do not use your mobile phone while driving

  • Get sufficient sleep before driving

  • Do not drive when tired as it can lead to drowsy driving resulting in automobile crashes

  • Undertake a weekly check of all fluid levels, coolant level, battery, electrolyte level, tyre pressures and treads

Secure Your Vehicle

  • Always park in an authorized parking spot

  • Always keep your vehicle locked and keys in safe place

  • Ensure that your Anti – Burglar alarm (if installed) is activated

  • Do not leave any valuables inside the car

  • Do not hand over the keys to strangers

Fuel Optimization

  • Avoid racing the engine at the time of start up as it consumes a lot of fuel

  • Drive steadily. Sudden acceleration results in more fuel consumption

  • Avoid rough road and gravel as far as possible

  • Do not leave the car idling for a long time on signals

  • Do not rest your foot on the clutch pedal or brake pedal, pressing it causes drag leading to more fuel consumption

  • Always use air – conditioning on highways as it helps avoid air drag and increases fuel efficiency
