Optimise Gear shifts
- Change gear after 2000 revs (diesel) or 2.500 (petrol)
Drive Swiftly
- Hold a steady speed (possibly above 40km/h)
- Downshift instead of braking
- Anticipate the traffic in front of you to avoid constant acceleration / braking
Manage your Acceleration
- From standstill, start frankly and shift quickly your gears, to be as soon as possible in highest gear
- Above 50 km/h, moderate your acceleration
Use your Engine
- Do not let the engine warm at idle
- Cut the engine for any stop above 1 minute
Optimise your Vehicle
- Avoid keeping unnecessary heavy items and remove roof rails when not needed
- Use the air conditioning when necessary, with a temperature gap inside/outside of max 5°C
- Respect maintenance schedule
- Check tyres pressure every month
- Prefer low-resistance rolling tyres (“fuel savers”)
