In the Vehicle:
- Airbags: if you are a passenger, try to have the largest distance from the dashboard airbags, if you drive, make sure you do not sit too close to the driver airbag,
- Driving Position: make sure that you sit flat against your seat, reduce as much as possible any slack in your seatbelt, with the shoulder strap over your collar bone (sternum) and the lap portion as low as possible on your abdomen,
- Minimal Kit to carry: bottled water, healthy snacks (fruits, cereal bars), travel pillow, plastic bag, wipes or towelettes, some additional clothes.
Your Journey:
- Route Planning: try to plan ahead (toilet breaks, stretching, facilities available),
- When sitting for long periods, blood can clot in your legs so make sure you make regular breaks to strech, to walk around and drink plenty of water.
